MidMichigan Medical Center-Gratiot President Mark Santamaria departs suddenly

Midland-based MidMichigan Health announced that Mark Santamaria, president of MidMichigan Medical Center-Gratiot in Alma, "is no longer in this position or in any role with MidMichigan Health."

The health system has not given a reason for the sudden departure. Greg Rogers, executive vice president of MidMichigan Health and president of the MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland, will serve as interim president of the Gratiot hospital.

"In this time of transition, I have every confidence that our employees, physicians, and volunteers will continue on our journey of providing the highest level of clinical care and the finest patient experience to those we serve," said Diane Postler-Slattery, president & CEO of MidMichigan Health, in a statement.

Mr. Santamaria has served as president of MidMichigan Medical Center-Gratiot since 2012, according to a Morning Sun News report. Prior to serving as president of the Gratiot facility, Mr. Santamaria was director of clinical services at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Saudi Arabia. He has also served as senior vice president and COO at The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Conn.
