Methodist Healthcare taps chief medical officer

San Antonio-based Methodist Healthcare has named Parikshet Babber, MD, chief medical officer, effective March 1. 

For the past two years, Dr. Babber has served as assistant CMO of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division and HCA Houston, according to a March 5 news release shared with Becker’s. In that role, he led quality and patient safety across 17 acute care and specialty hospitals, and a network of urgent care and freestanding emergency departments.

Additionally, he had divisional oversight for graduate medical education programs and medical staff services.

Throughout his career, Dr. Babber has served in the CMO role across several hospitals and health systems in Texas.
