Here are three things to know about Ms. Thomas.
1. Ms. Thomas joined Mercy Hospital Fort Smith in May 2010 as executive director of critical care services and has since taken on additional leadership roles and responsibilities.
2. She is currently vice president of ancillary services and has been serving as interim CNO since March.
3. Now, as CNO, Ms. Thomas will work to recruit and retain nurses, and she will be responsible for ensuring that nursing care results in a positive patient experience, according to the report. “In my new role, I will work to optimize patient outcomes with our nursing care. Our nurses are second to none and we will continue to build on that tradition,” Ms. Thomas said in the report.
