Medical City Dallas has named Tabitha South, DNP, RN, as its new chief nursing executive, according to a July 6 news release.
Dr. South brings 28 years of nursing leadership experience to the role. She most recently served as chief nursing officer and vice president of nursing for Medical City Children’s Hospital and Medical City Women’s Hospital Dallas, both located on the same campus as Medical City Dallas. She previously served as assistant chief nursing officer and vice president of adult patient services at Medical City Dallas.

Dr. South earned a doctor of nursing practice degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master of science in nursing administration and bachelor of science in nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She has been recognized as a DFW Great 100 Nurse and received the D Magazine Nurse Excellence Award. She is a graduate of HCA Healthcare’s Executive Development Program and Advanced Leadership Program.
