Carrie Adams, PharmD, was promoted from COO to president of Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.
Dr. Adams has served as COO of the 327-bed, level III trauma center since 2022, overseeing clinical operations, quality, performance improvement and support services. Before that, she served as vice president and chief quality and transformation officer for Hagerstown-based Meritus Health.
“Dr. Adams is a consummate leader, dedicated to patients and staff, and always focused on quality,” Maulik Joshi, DrPH, president and CEO of Meritus Health, said in a June 4 news release.
Meritus Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Hagerstown-based Meritus Health, a community-based academic health system that serves more than 200,000 people.
