Mark O’Neill Promoted to CEO of Quincy Medical Center in Massachusetts

Mark O’Neill, CFO of Quincy (Mass.) Medical Center, has been promoted to CEO, effective later this month, according to a Patriot Ledger report.

Mr. O’Neill has served as CFO for the last four years and replaces John Kastanis, a specialist who was hired to act as interim CEO. Mr. O’Neill’s appointment comes at a pivotal time in QMC’s history. Earlier this month, the hospital filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as part of its planned acquisition by Boston-based Steward Health Care.
