Mr. Swallow has served as MaineHealth’s CFO since 2015, according to a May 30 news release from the health system shared with Becker’s. The system said he played a key role in many significant initiatives, including the unification of MaineHealth in 2019 and navigating the financial challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Al’s contributions to our state and our health system are immeasurable,” MaineHealth CEO Andy Mueller, MD said in the release. “We are incredibly grateful for his dedicated service and leadership.”

MaineHealth said it will begin the search for Mr. Swallow’s successor later this spring.
