Innovation consortium Longitude Health has named Ian Spier as CFO.
Mr. Spier most recently served as a senior vice president at Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health, where he led strategic growth, corporate development and venture investments, according to a May 14 Longitude Health news release. He partnered with executive leadership to establish Novant Health Enterprises, a diversified ambulatory growth platform.
Longitude Health was launched in October 2024 by four major nonprofit health systems: Renton, Wash.-based Providence; Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health; Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System; and Novant. Longitude was formed with the aim of tackling “the most impactful challenges and opportunities in the healthcare industry.”
Mr. Spier represented Novant in the creation, capitalization and governance of Longitude, according to the release.
In his new role, Mr. Spier will guide Longitude’s financial strategy, capital planning and corporate development as the organization expands its portfolio and builds new system-designed utilities to improve performance and patient care nationwide, according to the release.
“Longitude Health was built on the idea that healthcare’s biggest problems are shared problems, and that lasting change comes from solving them together,” Mr. Spier said in the release. “Having helped shape Longitude’s formation from the health system side, I am honored to join this team and help build the financial and strategic foundation for solutions that improve performance, strengthen sustainability and ultimately better serve patients and communities.”
He succeeds Brett Moraski, who served as Longitude’s CFO since its founding and also served as interim CEO. Mr. Moraski will continue to serve as a senior advisor to ensure a seamless leadership transition.
