Lewis County General Hospital places CEO Eric Burch on indefinite administrative leave: 5 things to know

Eric Burch, CEO of Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville, N.Y., has been placed on paid administrative leave, indefinitely, according to a Watertown Daily Times report.

Here are five things to know:

1. Michele A. Prince, the hospital’s current COO, was named interim CEO.

2. Michael F. Young, president of the board of managers, declined to give a reason for placing Mr. Burch on leave. He called the decision “a personnel matter,” according to the report.

3. Mr. Burch took over as CEO of the hospital in 2007. Earlier this year, the board voted to extend his contract through April 2017.

4. Mr. Young said the board was discussing the hospital’s future and that “Mr. Burch will be part of that discussion.”

5. Mr. Young also said the board had not reached a “final decision” regarding the hospital’s leadership.
