Lee Health taps quality chief

Lee Health, a seven-hospital system based in Fort Myers, Fla., named Minka Schofield, MD, as its new chief quality and patient safety officer. 

At Lee Health, Dr. Schofield will “be responsible for patient safety, error prevention and assessment, quality improvement and standardization, national hospital grading and benchmarking, and conformance risk assessments,” according to a June 16 news release. 

Dr. Schofield, an otolaryngologist surgeon, most recently served The Ohio State University as director of its general otolaryngology division, medical director of surgical operations, and vice chair of diversity, equity and inclusion.
