Lee Health names Dr. Scott Nygaard COO: 4 notes

Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health tapped Scott Nygaard, MD, to serve as COO, according to a Business Observer report.

Here are four notes:

1. Most recently, Dr. Nygaard served as chief medical and clinical integration officer for the system.

2. He has worked at Lee Health since 2010, when he joined as CMO of Lee Physician Group.

3. He also helped establish the Florida State University College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program at Lee Health.

4. Prior to joining Lee Health, Dr. Nygaard was senior vice president for corporate services at Via Christi Health System in Wichita, Kan.
