Mr. Winter succeeds Benjamin A. Breier, who was named COO of Kindred Healthcare on Aug. 31.
Mr. Winter most recently served as chief administrative officer of Seattle-based Providence Health and Services, California Region, which operates five hospitals, outpatient and long-term care services with revenues of $1.5 billion.
