Kathy Bailey. President and CEO of Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge (Morgantown, N.C.). Ms. Bailey became COO of Blue Ridge Healthcare System — now Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge — in 2005 and served eight years in the role before she was named president and CEO of the health system in January 2013. Before that, she was the inaugural CEO of The Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head, N.C., for six years. From 1990 to 1999, Ms. Bailey was vice president of patient care at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, N.C. Ms. Bailey served as the president of the North Carolina Organization of Nurse Executives in 1996.
