Karen Blount, MSN, RN, has been appointed president of Buffalo (N.Y.) General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, part of Kaleida Health.
Ms. Blount had served as interim president of BGMC/GVI since May 2025, according to an Oct. 30 health system news release. She rejoined Kaleida Health in January 2023 to oversee integration, alignment and operational improvements across perioperative services.
Ms. Blount brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including leadership roles at academic medical centers, health plans and women’s and children’s hospitals. She previously served as president of the former Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo from 1997 to 2003.
