Juan Quintana elected president of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists: 5 things to know

Juan Quintana, DNP, has been elected president of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, effective Sept. 1, according to a news release from the group.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Quintana.

1. As president, he will lead the 49,000-member AANA, located in Park Ridge, Ill.

2. Mr. Quintana is the owner of Sleepy Anesthesia Associates in Winnsboro, Texas, which provides anesthesia for rural hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.

3. He is also co-owner of ABC Consultants, an anesthesia billing company located in Winnsboro.

4. A former regional director on the AANA board of directors, Mr. Quintana has served for the past year as president-elect, working alongside immediate past president Sharon Pearce, MSN.

5. He also has served on numerous state and national committees, and has special interests in advocacy, business, reimbursement, research and volunteering.
