Iowa Hospital Association gets new CEO

The Iowa Hospital Association has appointed Christopher Mitchell as the organization’s next president and CEO, effective mid-October.

He will succeed Kirk Norris, who is retiring after 34 years with the organization, according to an Aug. 6 news release.

“Kirk has provided incomparable leadership during his time with IHA, and his direction has resulted in many impressive achievements on behalf of Iowa hospitals,” said Jason Harrington, chair of the Iowa Hospital Association’s board of officers and trustees. “We feel Chris is an excellent choice to continue this rich tradition of service, support and advocacy for Iowa hospitals.”

Mr. Mitchell is currently the executive vice president of advocacy and public affairs for the Michigan Health and Hospital Association, a position he has held since 2019.
