Inspira Health names first female board chair

Mullica Hill, N.J.-based Inspira Health has named Elizabeth Ryan chair of its board of trustees, effective April 5.

Ms. Ryan has served on the board since 2018, according to an April 5 news release from the health system. Additionally, she is the executive in residence at the Bloustein School of Public Policy at Rutgers University, based in New Brunswick, N.J.

From 2008 to 2017, Ms. Ryan served as president and CEO of the New Jersey Hospital Association. During her tenure, she expanded the association's membership to include all of the state's acute care hospitals and led through the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

She will succeed Ronald Rossi, who held the role for three years, and make history as the board's first female chair.
