Indiana University Health names Mark Lantzy CIO

Indiana University Health has appointed Mark Lantzy as senior vice president and CIO. He will oversee information services across the Indianapolis-based health system.

Mr. Lantzy joins IU Health from Pittsburgh-based Gateway Health, where he was CIO and COO of the managed care organization.

Mr. Lantzy is taking over duties from Bill McConnell, who is retiring. Mr. McConnell served as senior vice president and CIO of IU Health since August 2012. He will remain with the health system in a human relations role for several months.

"I am very pleased to join an organization so important to the lives of our patients and Hoosiers," Mr. Lantzy said. "There is a rapidly growing technology sector in Indianapolis and the opportunity to bring innovation and new approaches to our health information technology capability is exciting."
