HSHS hospital taps first chief administrative officer

Aryn Hunter, RN, BSN, has been appointed the first chief administrative officer for Springfield, Ill.-based HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital, effective July 19.

The hospital is part of Hospital Sisters Health System, a Springfield-based Catholic health ministry with operations in Illinois and Wisconsin.

In her new role, Ms. Hunter will oversee the hospital’s nursing, operations and other organizational needs, according to a June 24 news release shared with Becker’s.

Ms. Hunter currently serves as chief administrative officer for HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She also served as St. Francis’s director of operations.

“[Ms. Hunter] brings the operational vision and drive to guide the Children’s Hospital through its next chapter of growth, and I am confident she will elevate the level of care we deliver to the children and families who depend on us,” Brian Brennan, president and CEO of the HSHS Central Illinois Market, said in the release.
