Here are four things to know about Ms. Grause.
1. The HANYS Board of Trustees chose Ms. Grause for the position in December, and she officially began her job as president July 1.
2. Ms. Grause succeeds Dennis P. Whalen, who retired after serving HANYS for six years, three as its president.
3. Prior to joining HANYS, Ms. Grause was president and CEO of the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems for 14 years.
4. During her tenure in Vermont, she led Vermont hospitals through various reform initiatives, including the state’s single-payer debate.
