Mr. Gettinger, 46, joined 535-bed Moses Cone in 1992 as vice president of patient care management and then served as vice president of Moses Cone Heart and Vascular Center and vice president and administrator of the Women’s Hospital of Greensboro.
At WakeMed, he replaces Deborah G. Friberg, who left in January to become executive vice president of Columbia St. Mary’s, a four-hospital system in Milwaukee.
