HCA taps new CEO for Texas hospital

Robert Sabina has been named CEO of HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center, effective Jan. 6.

Mr. Sabina most recently served as COO of HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe (Texas) since September 2021, according to a Jan. 2 news release shared with Becker’s.

With 15 years of healthcare leadership experience in the Houston area, Mr. Sabina joined Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare in 2017 as assistant vice president of strategic planning for the Gulf Coast division.

While serving as COO of the Conroe facility, he led operational improvements in surgical services and the development of the hospital’s comprehensive stroke program, the release said.

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is a 372-bed acute care hospital.
