HCA taps Brian Cook as president of Far West Division: 5 takeaways

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare named Brian Cook president of its Henderson, Nev.-based Far West Division, effective May 1.

1. Currently, Mr. Cook serves as CEO of North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville.

2. He joined HCA in 2003, and since then served in several leadership roles, including as CEO of Parkridge East Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn.

3. He holds an MBA from Rollins College’s Crummer Graduate School of Business in Winter Park, Fla.

4. As Far West Division president, he will oversee eight hospitals, nine surgery centers and several outpatient locations in California and Nevada.

5. Mr. Cook succeeds Bryan Rogers, who is retiring after 19 years working at HCA.
