HCA Kansas hospital appoints chief medical officer

Overland Park, Kan.-based Menorah Medical Center, part of HCA Midwest Health, recently named Rodney Buzzas, MD, chief medical officer. 

Dr. Buzzas is joining Menorah Medical Center from St. Rose Dominican Hospitals in Henderson, Nev., where he was CMO and designated institutional official for graduate medical education programs, according to a July 31 news release shared with Becker’s. At St. Rose, he established a neurosciences service line and helped achieve level 2 designation for emergency and trauma services. 

He also has physician leadership experience at Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, Ariz., and St. Charles Health System in Bend, Ore. 

Menorah Medical Center is part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, which operates about 190 hospitals and 2,600 ambulatory sites of care across 19 states and the United Kingdom.
