HCA Florida hospital selects Dr. Luis Fernandez as CMO

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami has selected Luis Fernandez, DO, to serve as chief medical officer, according to a Dec. 8 news release sent to Becker’s. He will oversee initiatives that support “consistent clinical performance and practice standards.

Dr. Fernandez is the former assistant CMO at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, which is also in Miami. In that role, he served as a liaison between the hospital’s medical staff and its executive team. 

“Dr. Fernandez is an exceptional healthcare leader who has made significant contributions at HCA Kendall Hospital. We are glad he has chosen to join Mercy as our CMO and look forward to his contributions to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care,” said David Donaldson, CEO of HCA Florida Mercy Hospital.
