Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center names Dr. George Helmrich CMO

Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Panama City, Fla., selected George A. Helmrich, MD, to serve as CMO, effective March 1, 2017. Most recently, Dr. Helmrich served as CMO of Baptist Easley (S.C.) Hospital.

Dr. Helmrich’s previous roles include vice chair of quality and inpatient operations for the OB-GYN department of Greenville (S.C.) Health System’s University Medical Group. He has also been a physician surveyor for The Joint Commission and interim director of management engineering for Greenville Health System.

Dr. Helmrich completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. He also holds a MBA degree in healthcare from Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C.
