West Burlington, Iowa-based Great River Health Systems tapped Matthew Wenzel to serve as president and CEO, effective Jan. 2, 2018.
Here are five notes:
1. Mr. Wenzel most recently served as president and CEO of Saint Luke's North Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
2. He worked at Kansas City-based Saint Luke's Health System for a decade, prior to which he was marketing manager of physician solutions at Cerner.
3. He holds a master of health administration and a master of science-healthcare informatics degree from University of Missouri in Columbia.
4. He is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
5. Mr. Wenzel will succeed Mark Richardson, who has served at the helm of the health system since 1997.
