Great River Health Systems names Matthew Wenzel CEO: 5 notes

West Burlington, Iowa-based Great River Health Systems tapped Matthew Wenzel to serve as president and CEO, effective Jan. 2, 2018.

1. Mr. Wenzel most recently served as president and CEO of Saint Luke’s North Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

2. He worked at Kansas City-based Saint Luke’s Health System for a decade, prior to which he was marketing manager of physician solutions at Cerner.

3. He holds a master of health administration and a master of science-healthcare informatics degree from University of Missouri in Columbia.

4. He is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

5. Mr. Wenzel will succeed Mark Richardson, who has served at the helm of the health system since 1997.
