Geisinger’s chief innovation officer transitions to advisory role

Karen Murphy, PhD, chief innovation and digital transformation of Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger, said she will be stepping down from her role to take on a part time position as senior adviser to the health system’s CEO Jaewon Ryu, MD.

Dr. Murphy, who has served in the position since 2017, shared the news via LinkedIn Sept. 25, stating, “I’m grateful to have served Geisinger for the past six years.”

Some of Dr. Murphy’s accomplishments in the role include transforming Geisinger’s data analytics capabilities and helping launch the digital transformation office and infrastructure to deploy intelligent automation.
