Here are four things to know about Mr. Carroll.
1. Mr. Carroll will assume the role of administrator Sept. 8.
2. He joins Unicoi County Memorial Hospital from Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, Tenn., where he served as CEO since 2013.
3. Mr. Carroll started his career as a CT technologist at Johnson City (Tenn.) Medical Center in 2000 and relocated to Naples (Fla.) Community Hospital in 2006 as a CT supervisor. While in Florida, he earned his master’s degree in health services administration from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers and soon after was named associate administrator for Physicians Regional Healthcare System in Naples.
4. He returned home to Bristol in 2012 as the COO of Select Specialty Hospital of the Tri-Cities, a facility specializing in care for patients with acute or chronic respiratory disorders. He was named CEO in 2013. As CEO, he was responsible for all daily operations, both clinical and financial, as well as for business development, physician relations and quality of care for the 33-bed hospital, which is a division of Select Medical.
