Emory Healthcare names chief nurse executive

Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare named Susan Grant, DNP, RN, chief nurse executive, effective Sept. 28.

Dr. Grant will lead nursing and patient care services across the system and ensure nursing is an active participant in the system’s clinical operations, according to an Aug. 6 system news release shared with Becker’s. She will also set the vision, direction and standards for nursing excellence and provide direct leadership to Emory’s chief nursing officers across 11 hospitals and its clinics. 

Dr. Grant previously served as chief nurse executive and chief patient services officer at Emory Healthcare from 2006 to 2015, and most recently served as chief clinical officer for a healthcare operations software company.
