Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health named SriniVas Sadda, MD, chair of its Department of Ophthalmology, effective Nov. 10.
Dr. Sadda currently serves as the A. Ray Irvine, Jr., MD, Endowed Chair in Clinical Ophthalmology and professor of ophthalmology at the Doheny Eye Institute and the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, according to a June 22 health system news release.
His research focuses on automated retinal image analysis, retinal substructure assessment and advanced imaging technologies. He completed his medical degree, residency and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University’s Wilmer Eye Institute, where he trained in neuro-ophthalmology and medical retina.

Dr. Sadda previously served as president of the Doheny Eye Institute and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
