David Wilson leaves Shelby Baptist Medical Center for CEO role in Mississippi

David Wilson, president of Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Ala., will resign from his post March 27. According to an Alabama news site, Mr. Wilson has accepted an offer to become CEO of North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

According to the report, Mr. Wilson’s departure from Shelby Baptist Medical Center comes as Birmingham-based Baptist Health System and four hospitals in the region pursue a merger with Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare’s Brookwood Medical Center, also in Birmingham, through the formation of a new company.
