Cook Children’s taps national group president for C-suite

Amy Wimpey Knight has been appointed chief administrative officer of Fort Worth, Texas-based Cook Children’s Health Care System.

Ms. Knight most recently served as president of the Children’s Hospital Association, according to a May 6 health system news release. She has also held roles at a healthcare strategy firm and a pediatric hospital.

She took over the role May 1 and succeeded Keith Holtz, who is retiring in early 2026. 

In her new role, Ms. Knight will oversee strategy, patient, family and team experience, human resources, community health, and public relations and marketing.

Cook Children’s Health Care System operates two medical centers, two surgery centers, home health services, a physician network and a health plan.
