COO at Vail, Colorado, Hospital Becomes CEO

Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail, Colo., has named Doris Kirchner, its COO for the past 18 months, as its new CEO, according to the Vail Daily.

Ms. Kirchner also assumed the position of acting CEO of the 49-bed hospital when John Cassin resigned in early July. She will be the hospital’s fifth CEO since 1998.

She is a registered nurse who also served as the hospital’s COO from 1986-1994.
