New Britain, Conn.-based Hospital for Special Care named a new president and CEO, COO and chief nursing officer.
R. Moses Vargas, Esq., was named president and CEO of the hospital, effective Aug. 10, according to a hospital news release. He served as the hospital’s chief legal officer and vice president of government affairs for the last six months. He succeeds interim president and CEO Lynn Ricci, who will remain with the organization until Sept. 15 to ensure a smooth transition.
Jennifer Farley was named senior vice president and COO. She will develop strategies to support service line expansion and create operational efficiencies. She most recently served as the hospital’s chief quality officer and vice president of organizational excellence.
Paula Doyle, DNP, RN, was named vice president and chief nursing officer and will oversee all nursing staff and help direct clinical policies for the organization. Dr. Doyle joined the hospital in 2022 and has served as director of nursing operations and interim chief nursing officer since April 2026.
Hospital for Special Care is the fourth largest, free-standing long-term acute care hospital in the U.S. and one of only two in the nation serving adults and children, according to the release.
