Cleveland Clinic has appointed Miguel Regueiro, MD, as executive vice president and enterprise chief of staff, effective June 1.
In the role, Dr. Regueiro will help shape the health system’s clinical strategy and lead a global community of more than 6,000 physicians and 4,000 advanced practice providers, according to a May 29 health system news release. He succeeds Beri Ridgeway, MD, who will become president of Cleveland Clinic London.
Dr. Regueiro has served as chief of Cleveland Clinic’s Digestive Disease Institute since 2021 and holds the inaugural Melody and Steve Golding Chair for Digestive Diseases. He joined Cleveland Clinic in 2018 after spending nearly 20 years on faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he served as director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center.
Dr. Regueiro will continue leading the Digestive Disease Institute until an interim chair is named, the release said.
Cleveland Clinic is a 6,725-bed health system with 23 hospitals and 300 outpatient facilities.
