Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi gets new CEO: 3 things to know

Tomislav Mihaljevic, MD, is taking over the role of CEO of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, according to a report from The National.

Here are three things to know about Dr. Mihaljevic.

1. Dr Mihaljevic, formerly the hospital’s chief of staff, will succeed Marc Harrison, MD, who is to take on a new position as head of international business development for Cleveland Clinic.

2. In his new role, Dr. Mihaljevic will be overseeing Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s continuing expansion, according to the report. The hospital currently employs nearly 3,000 caregivers with more than 30 specialities.

3. Waleed Al Muhairi, chairman of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, said Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is fortunate to have somebody like Dr. Mihaljevic stepping into the CEO role, according to the report. “He has worked closely as a partner with Dr. Harrison the past five years to make the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi vision a reality,” he added.
