ChristianaCare taps chief nursing informatics officer

Newark, Del.-based ChristianaCare named Petrena Saunders, BSN, RN, chief nursing informatics officer.

Ms. Saunders will step into her role Oct. 6 and will report to Chief Nursing Executive Danielle Weber, DNP, RN, according to a Sept. 29 system news release. She will lead the strategy and implementation of technologies and tools that support nursing caregivers across the system and play a role in launching the Epic electronic health record. 

Most recently, Ms. Saunders served as executive nurse informatics adviser at Vizzia Technologies, and prior to that, she served as system vice president and chief health informatics officer at Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health.
