Independence, Mo.-based Centerpoint Medical Center CEO David Williams is retiring May 1.
Here are five notes:
1. Mr. Williams has served as CEO at Centerpoint Medical Center, a Kansas City, Mo.-based HCA Midwest Health facility, for six years.
2. During his tenure as CEO, the medical center opened the $20 million Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, added three new floors and 12 intensive care unit beds as well as renovated the emergency room.
3. He has worked within Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare since 1987, serving in numerous leadership roles, including CEO for Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La.
4. Early in his career, he served as assistant administrator for Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
5. Mr. Williams also served on the boards of numerous organizations, including the Independence Chamber of Commerce and Independence Economic Development Council.
