Cedars-Sinai promotes 3 executives

Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai announced three executive promotions on May 24.

Heitham Hassoun, MD, was named chief executive of Cedars-Sinai International; James Laur was named chief executive of intellectual property and health ventures; and Stella Chen was named associate CFO, according to a health system news release.

Dr. Hassoun joined Cedars-Sinai six years ago as vice president and medical director of Cedars-Sinai International. In his new position, he will focus on Cedars-Sinai’s efforts to expand through worldwide collaborations and affiliations, according to the release.

Mr. Laur previously was vice president of intellectual property at Cedars-Sinai. He will helm Cedars-Sinai Intellectual Property Company and continue his leadership role as managing director of Cedars-Sinai Health Ventures, according to the release.

Ms. Chen joined Cedars-Sinai nearly a decade ago as manager of accounting. With her promotion to the newly created role of associate CFO, she will expand her current title and responsibilities as vice president of finance, according to the release.
