Broward Health hires new chief procurement officer: 3 points

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health selected Jorge F. Hernandez as vice president of supply chain and chief procurement officer.

Here are three points:

1. Mr. Hernandez formerly served as assistant vice president and senior director of supply chain services for Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare’s Eastern Region-Coastal Division hospitals in Massachusetts, South Carolina and Florida.

2. He has more than 20 years of healthcare supply chain experience, with prior experience at South Miami, Fla.-based Larkin Community Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.

3. In his new role at Broward, Mr. Hernandez will oversee management of the centralized and decentralized operational areas of material services. He will also ensure supply chain processes are consistent throughout the system.
