Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System named Patrick Downes president of BayCare Hospital Manatee in Palmetto, Fla., the system’s 17th hospital, effective July 5.
Mr. Downes will continue serving as president of St. Joseph’s Hospital-South in Riverview, Fla., a role he has held since 2023, according to a July 2 health system news release. He has also been involved in planning and developing BayCare Hospital Manatee.
BayCare Hospital Manatee is under construction and is scheduled to open in 2028. The hospital is expected to open with 154 private patient rooms and is designed to expand to 207 beds as community needs grow.
The hospital will offer obstetrics, neonatal care, diagnostic and interventional services, cardiology, surgical services, urology and gastroenterology.
