Baptist Health Richmond (Ky.) has appointed Morgan Blanton, DO, as vice president and chief medical officer, effective in September.
Dr. Blanton first joined the 105-bed hospital — part of Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health — in 2019 as a hospitalist. In 2022, she was appointed medical director of hospital medicine.
Dr. Blanton succeeds Erica Gregonis, MD, who is leaving the role for a new opportunity.
“Becoming chief medical officer at Baptist Health Richmond is a privilege I don’t take lightly — especially following Dr. Gregonis, who set a standard of leadership that is rooted in Baptist Health’s mission,” Dr. Blanton said in a June 25 news release.
Baptist Health operates eight owned hospitals and two joint venture hospitals across Kentucky and its surrounding states, with more than 24,000 employees and 470 points of care.
