Meiko Onken has been appointed CEO of Banner Casa Grande (Ariz.) Medical Center, effective June 22.
Ms. Onken joined Phoenix-based Banner Health in 2002 in a clinical role and advanced through a series of leadership positions across the organization, according to a June 22 health system news release. Most recently, she served as COO of Banner–University Medicine Tucson (Ariz.), a role she held for the last five years.
She brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including two decades in leadership. In her most recent role, she oversaw operations, strategic initiatives and performance at both Banner–University Medicine Tucson campuses.
“While I am filled with excitement for what lies ahead, this transition is also bittersweet,” Ms. Onken said in a June 22 LinkedIn post. “Leaving Banner University Medical Center Tucson and South is not easy. Over the past five years, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented, compassionate, and dedicated healthcare professionals.”
Banner Health operates 33 hospitals and more than 400 sites across six states.
