Ballad Health names new financial leader, CFO to retire

Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health has named Shane Hilton CFO, effective immediately, to replace Lynn Krutak, who will retire June 30.

Mr. Hilton and Ms. Krutak will work together to ensure a smooth transition for the financial oversight and management at Ballad Health, according to an April 9 news release. 

Ms. Krutak has served as Ballad Health CFO since the health system was established. Prior to her current role, Ms. Krutak served as executive vice president and CFO of Mountain States Health Alliance, which merged with Wellmont Health System in 2018 to become Ballad Health.

Prior to his new role, Mr. Hilton served in multiple roles at Ballad Health, including senior accountant, controller of regional finances, CFO of operations in Washington County (Tenn.), CFO of the health system's Tennessee operations, CFO for all hospital market operations, and CFO of corporate, retail and non-acute services, the release said. 

Ballad Health comprises 20 hospitals, post-acute care and behavioral health services and a multispecialty physician group, according to its website.
