Ballad Health names CMO of 3 hospitals

Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health has tapped Jesse Sulzer, MD, PhD, as chief medical officer for three hospitals in Virginia.

Dr. Sulzer joins Ballad from HCA Mission Health in Ashville, N.C., where he served as chair of surgery. In his new role, Dr. he will oversee clinical operations and lead physician engagement efforts at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Russell County Hospital and Smyth County Community Hospital. 

Ballad Health is a 20-hospital system with locations in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Northwest North Carolina and Southeast Kentucky.
