Ascension nursing leader to join Hospital Sisters Health System

After serving St. Louis-based Ascension for more than a decade, Jennifer Morton, DNP, RN, will become chief nursing officer of Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System’s Wisconsin market.

Dr. Morton most recently served as Ascension’s national senior director of nursing practice and will assume her new role May 4, according to an April 9 news release from Hospital Sisters Health System, which operates 13 hospitals.

In her new role, Dr. Morton will oversee nursing functions at five hospitals in northeast Wisconsin: HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center and HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital in Green Bay; HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan; and HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.

She will bring “extensive healthcare management skills and nursing leadership experience” to the organization, according to the release.
