Sean McAfee, MSN, has been appointed president and CEO of Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns (Fla.) County, effective July 5.
Mr. McAfee has served as interim president and CEO since spring 2026, according to a June 25 Ascension news release. He has more than 30 years of operational and clinical leadership experience and previously served as chief nursing officer and COO at the hospital since it opened in 2022.
He also spent seven years in leadership roles at Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare hospitals in Florida, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County said the hospital continues to expand services to meet demand in the growing community, including plans to add a family birth place with labor and delivery services and a level 2 NICU.
