Ascension hospital names chief medical officer

Miramar Beach, Fla.-based Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast has named Claudia Emami, MD, chief medical officer, effective March 30.

Dr. Emami brings more than 20 years of clinical and physician leadership experience across academic and community health systems, according to an April 2 hospital news release. She most recently served as associate chief medical officer at Memorial University Medical Center, a 711-bed level 1 trauma center in Savannah, Ga. In that role, she oversaw quality and patient safety, medical staff operations, regulatory readiness and physician engagement.

Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast said Dr. Emami will help strengthen care delivery and support its medical staff, focusing on quality improvement and patient safety.
