Tamara Perry, MD, has been appointed senior vice president and chief research officer of Little Rock-based Arkansas Children’s and president of the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute, effective July 1.
Dr. Perry has been part of Arkansas Children’s and the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute for nearly two decades, according to the May 29 LinkedIn post from the hospital. She also will hold the Whipple Family Distinguished Research Scientist Endowed Chair.
Her research has focused on improving care for children with asthma and allergies, including National Institutes of Health-funded work. Arkansas Children’s said her efforts have helped advance pediatric medicine and strengthen the organization’s national research reputation.
The organization said she has remained focused throughout her career on advancing research and expanding access to care for children, particularly those in rural and underserved communities.
